New Avdel® Handtools for Breakstem Rivets, Lockbolts and Speed Fastening®
WELWYN GARDEN CITY (UK) - 1 October 2008 - Avdel® has introduced lightweight Genesis® nG handtools with advanced features that increase reliability, ergonomics, productivity and service over the models they replace.

The new hydro-pneumatic Avdel® Genesis® nG1, nG2, nG2s, nG3 and nG4 installation tools are suitable for assembly operations that use breakstem rivets and lockbolts in automotive, manu-facturing, construction and general industry. Avdel® Genesis® nG handtools weigh between 1.5 kg and 2.28 kg, with pull forces that vary between 6.0 kN to 18.68 kN.
The new tools are stronger and faster with enhanced safety, increased productivity and im-proved ergonomics being development criteria. New features include an additional piston return spring that, under normal operating conditions, reduces installation rates to 1.2 seconds per rivet and an integrated cycle counter that tracks working strokes and alerts operators to maintenance schedules.
Avdel® Genesis® nG handtools feature impact-resistant plastic bodies and heavy-duty rubber bases – which give benefits especially in demanding assembly environments. A soft rubber grip reduces operator fatigue and the air supply shutoff can be easily controlled by the trigger. This contributes to energy saving and noise reduction benefits.

The new 7537 lightweight tool for Speed Fastening® systems enlarges the range of Avdel plac-ing tools by offering a built in version of the existing split tool 7530. In the 7537 version, the in-tensifier is made integral to the hand tool as with breakstem rivet tools. This is achieved by inte-grating the air cylinder and intensifier arrangement with the placing head into a single placing tool. The compressed air supply can therefore be connected directly to the handtool rather than the remote intensifier thus improving flexibility of use.
