Under the Italian Decree to implement 2002/96/EC Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive which came into force on August 13th 2005, for equipment that you buy from Avdel® after December 31st 2009, Avdel® is required to finance the collection, treatment, recycling and recovery of WEEE that your new purchase replaces, on a one-for-one, like-for-like basis. This is providing the weight of the old equipment is less than double that of the new purchase. The old equipment that your new purchase from Avdel® replaces is referred to as Historic WEEE.
Under the Decree, Avdel® is also required to finance the collection, treatment, recycling and recovery of any new electrical and electronic equipment that you buy from Avdel® after December 31st 2009, when that new equipment eventually becomes waste. This is referred to as New WEEE.
Avdel® products are very competitively priced. Any new increase in operating costs for manufacturers such as Avdel® is normally reflected in a price increase in the product. However, instead of increasing the prices of our products Avdel® has decided to share these new environmental costs directly with our customers. We believe in being transparent with you on any new environmental costs that our products need to address.
Our approach to sharing these new environmental costs is:
It is your responsibility to arrange and pay for costs of collection and transportation to EARN. In order to meet Italian regulations for waste disposal, you should use one of the following carriers (which hold a valid Waste Carriers License):
Waste Carrier | Telephone Number | |
Kuehne+Nagel on behalf of S.Eco Servizi Ecologici | 02-66502703 |
For larger quantities of waste you may wish to contact the recycler directly in order to arrange and pay for an alternative collection method. The Avdel® Recycler in Italy is:
Recycler | Telephone Number | Website |
Ecosfera S.p.a | +49 (0)5321 336724 |
To comply with Italian Waste Transport Regulations all WEEE must be accompanied by suitable documentation when transported to the recycler. In order to comply with this regulation and to enable EARN to identify Avdel® equipment upon arrival at the recycler's address, please download the Recycling Label for Italian Customers. Complete the label with your company details and attach it to a suitable box for transport to EARN.
WEEE Reporting Recycling Data for Avdel® Equipment in Italy
Under Article 13 of the Decree, Avdel® must provide annual information of the quantities and categories of electrical and electronic equipment put on the market, reused, recycled and recovered within Italy.
The first WEEE recycling report will cover the period July 2006 to June 2007. EARN will prepare the recycling data report for Avdel®. Information in the EARN recycling data report will be summarised on the Avdel® website when it becomes available.
